By the way, having driven by the Rapid Apartment complex...weird. The whole 3rd floor is gone, and with the amount of water they poured in to the lower floors methinks the building is probably on borrowed time.

James: That's the idea. It's going to be a relationship completely made of formal letter-writing, observing the style and etiquette (of which I know next to nothing) and I'm going to try to slip some themes in there.

Right now, I'm working on another story - it involves a PI and some celestial entities. I'm not really at liberty to say more, but I'm excited about it.

Cliff: I dunno. It makes sense to me. We have verifiable proof that we do good, important work on time by hiring talented people and getting them to do it.

Erron: The internet makes it a lot easier to make friends with (or fall in love with, I guess) people you've never met. I'm interested in using regular mail correspondence because I think letter-writing is a form that has fallen out of use. People use short-form for everything, now, and it makes me want to explore a situation that combines the anonymity of the internet with the grace of a formal letter. Intrigues me, too.

Kyle: I'm still trying to figure out what they're going to use these usernames/urls for.

thanks. i forgot about facebook usernames becoming available. so now facebook.com/feelingsofwhite is yours truly.

Just a thought: you only need to get as good at letter writing as your two protagonists. Especially with extended correspondences, if you want a true to life feeling, then I'd suggest they might even get worse as time goes on. Just like emails between two old friends might omit all sorts of necessary grammar constructs and standard letter greetings. Unless of course a character is inherently formal or something which could be an interesting trait too.

Anyway, it does sound an interesting premise. I hope it turns into something cool

Interesting story idea, Liam.

Also, the description of your company from their website is awful :

We have a proven record of delivering on the implementation and integration of mission critical applications. We do this by assembling an outstanding team of the best professionals to meet your needs.

Really? Whoever wrote that should be hurt badly.

Liam, I have a few friendships (close ones) with people I've never met face to face. I think most of us do??? I guess it has to do with living in the future . Okay we live in the present, but with 2010 mere months away, I feel like I live in the future, but without the really cool cars and personal robots.

I think it makes for a very intriguing character trait idea.
